詞語辨析:meantime與meanwhile的區(qū)別

　　從理論上說，兩者都可用作名詞或副詞。表示“其間”、“與此同時”，以下四種表達均可以且可互換：meantime,meanwhile,in the meantime,in the meanwhile。如：

　　他去倫敦一個星期，在此期間她繼續(xù)工作。

　　正：He was in London for a week,and meantime[meanwhile]she went on with the work.

　　正：He was in London for a week,and in the meantime[in the mean-while]she went on with the work.

　　但在現(xiàn)代英語中用得較多的是in the meantime和meanwhile。

　　I will call you Sunday,but in the meantime say nothing.我星期天給你打電話，但在此期間你什么也不要說。

　　The train won’t leave for an hour.Meanwhile we can have lunch.火車還有一個小時才開，其間我們可以吃中飯。
