高考英語詞語辨析:ordinary,common,usual與general的區(qū)別

　　1.ordinary意為“普通的”、“平凡的”，強(qiáng)調(diào)合乎常規(guī)、并不特殊。如：

　　in ordinary dress穿便服an ordinary working day一個普通工作日

　　用于out of the ordinary，意為“不平常”、“非凡”。如：

　　This was nothing out of the ordinary.那很平常。

　　Such a long delay is out of the ordinary.耽擱這樣長時(shí)間是少有的。

　　2.common意為“常見的”、“不足為奇的”，強(qiáng)調(diào)出現(xiàn)的次數(shù)頻繁或范圍廣泛。如：

　　Is this word in common use?這是常用詞嗎?

　　It's too common to mention.這是司空見慣的，不值一提。

　　It's a mistake quite common among students.這是一個孩子常犯的錯誤。

　　注：common還可表示“共同的”、“共有的”。如：

　　It's a common cup.那是一個公用茶杯。

　　Britain and America share a common language.英國和美國共用一種語言。

　　用于in common(with),意為“(與……)有共同之處”、“共用”。如：

　　Real friends should have everything in common.真正的朋友應(yīng)該在各方面都有相通之處。

　　The two sisters have a bike in common.姐妹倆共用一輛自行車。

　　3.uaual意為“平素的”、“慣常的”、“通常的”，指經(jīng)常出現(xiàn)而不變。如：

　　It is usual with him to be late.他遲到是常有的事。

　　We will meet at the usual time.我們將在老時(shí)間見面。

　　用于than usual(比平常)和as usual(像往常一樣)。如：

　　He arrived later than uaual.他到得比平常晚些。

　　As usual,there weren't many people at the meeting.像往常一樣，來開會的人不多。
